Job Description

Sify is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to oversee the Midwest and Texas territories of their eLearning product suite. This is a remote role and candidates can be located anywhere in the Midwestern United States or Texas. 

With over 15 years of experience in the learning domain, Sify has developed custom courseware for eLearning and instructor-led trainings (ILTs) in areas such as application training; product, process, and sales training; new hire orientation; management and soft skills training; and leadership training. 

In addition, Sify specializes in delivering custom learning content for mobile devices and tablets as well as delivery platforms such as virtual worlds and augmented reality. For the next 12 months, Sify will focus on solving some of the most difficult learning problems in vertical markets including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, engineering, utilities and the power industry, financial services, media and entertainment, and technology.

Responsibilities: 

  • You will play a vital role in developing a pipeline of new business and achieving revenue goals through the generation of Sales Accepted Leads (SALs) for the sales team and scheduling phone and/ or face-to-face meetings within enterprise accounts.
  • You will be responsible for proactively generating leads and shepherding these leads through the sales process towards conversion and closure with requisite coordination between onsite and offshore functional team members (including instructional design lead, mobile technologies solutions expert, LMS lead, and others).
  • Initiate contact with potential leads and prospects, helping to generate initial interest in and positioning Sify’s learning solutions and services.
  • Execute various sales campaigns by leveraging lead sources derived by field sales, marketing programs, trade shows, business partners, etc.
  • Present key selling points, features, and benefits while remaining focused on the prospect’s needs and expectations.
  • Conduct thorough lead qualification, including the identification of projects, timelines, business benefits, technical fit, key contacts and budget
  • Build credibility and strong working relationships with decision makers who do not show initial interest in our offerings but may need our solutions in future.
  • Work with the other Sify team members to generate and present proposals, concept papers, Statements of Work (SOW), etc., to customers for sign-off, leading to project awards.
  • Upon the award of projects, follow up and continue to engage the key stakeholders in the customer’s organization to encourage further account penetration and growth.
  • Whenever required and appropriate, to escalate project or customer issues to the right people within the organization for satisfactory resolution.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 1-2 years of cold calling experience in a lead generation environment.
  • Must be Internet savvy and possess basic computer skills like Microsoft Office, Excel etc.
  • Skilled and tenacious at calling and reaching elusive L&D, HR and other business executives at VP and director levels.
  • Ability to effectively overcome business objections of prospective customers.
  • Demonstrate persistence and strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Expert communication skills; including listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly flexible self-starter, articulate, results-oriented, and persuasive.

Preferred: 

  • Exposure to any of Sify’s growth domain areas – healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, engineering, utilities, power companies, financial services, media and entertainment, and technology.
  • Experience working within an enterprise software sales organization.
  • Exposure to eLearning and the Learning Management Systems industry.
  • Familiarity with a CRM systems and the sales lead generation processes.
